Feedback Instruments and The College of the North Atlantic Qatar

The College of the North Atlantic Qatar (CNAQ) is the premier comprehensive technical college in Qatar. It has been established as a result of the vision and direction of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Bin Saud Al Thani, the Emir. CNAQ was formed through an agreement between Qatar and the College of the North Atlantic in Canada, has been built to accommodate 3000 students and address the major programme areas of Engineering Technology, Health Sciences, Information Technology and Business. A prime requirement for Qatar is in the training of engineers and technicians to work in the natural gas and oil extraction industries.

Feedback Instruments have been a leader in the global education and training industry since 1958, primarily in subject areas relating to Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

In October 2003, Feedback Instruments was awarded a $3m contract by CNAQ for laboratories in the areas of:

• Controls & Instrumentation
• Analogue & Digital Electronics
• Digital & Microprocessor
• Electronics Fabrication
• General Electronics
• Industrial Controls
• Maintenance
• Technical Services
• Telecommunications
• Electrical Machines

This substantial contract included:

• Planning and preparation of laboratories
• Manufacture and supply of standard Feedback products
• Supply of laboratory furniture
• Supply of engineering teaching equipment of other manufacturers
• Bespoke equipment manufactured as the result of consultation with CNAQ
• Installation, commissioning, training
• Service visits for 3 years

The new facilities in CNAQ were inspected by His Excellency the Emir and the College Steering Committee members during a tour of inspection at CNAQ in September 2004, less than a year after the Feedback contract award. The inspectors were delighted with the execution of the Feedback contract.
